Local Production Company Visits Campus to Shoot Reebok Ad
(Submitted by John Butler, Office of Public & Media Relations)
The Old Westbury campus got a taste of Madison Avenue advertising last week when Debbie Regan Locations, a local film scouting company, brought the cast and crew for the latest Reebok Athletic television commercial to campus. Among the notables included in the commercial were rap music stars Jay-Z and T.I. along with Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association and NBA players Kenyon Martin and Jamal Crawford. With Segway people movers and the latest in fitness equipment, the Campus Center Atrium was retrofitted to appear as a high-tech laboratory. At the same time, the Maguire Theater stage was converted to an airport runway where the athletes took flight towards a hoop fixed at one end. Kudos to Panther Basketball player Dan Kane, who was asked to take part in the shoot. The commercial was being shot to promote the newest addition to the Reebok sneaker line, but information on air dates, channels and times were kept hush-hush by the producers. We'll keep you posted as we learn more...
